Friends of Westgate

We are based at Westgate Chapel, High Street, Lewes and are fortunate to have the support of the Trust and Congregation. We work together with the Westgate Trust, a UK charity and Radio Lewes Community Interest Company as a collaborative group volunteering and fund-raising for this historic Grade II starred listed building with a long history of community action and support.

Oyster Project members have been instrumental in re-furbishing the facilities at Westgate to a high standard during the 2020-2022 pandemic. New uses of the building mean a greater chance it will survive as an active, working community hub and retain it's long standing religious uses and spiritual life for all.

Being Friends of Westgate means these aims can be achieved and we encourage you to take part in this endeavour by making a regular monthly donation no matter how small. If you are able to gift aid then all the better.

Our chief aim as Friends of Westgate is to cover the building's running costs, an ever increasing issue, whilst keeping hire costs to the community at a cost effective level. This enables other groups to fundraise and for activities of many types to happen.

Westgate is a venue that enables people to make a difference, sometime small sometimes large, we want to be the difference and welcome you in joing us, Be The Difference.
