We are Scarborough's dedicated Lottery funded on line community radio station.
Radio Scarborough was formed as a NFP Company to apply for a community radio licence for the town and this is still an option we are persuing. We offer a platform for the town to share information and advice delivered by the residents of all ages. We aim to showcase local musicians and other aspects of performance and deliver this to the wider population, also we want to tell people more about where we live. This could be something happening today, or a look back at the towns rich history.
Why the community needs usWe currently broadcast over 10 hours a day of programmes made here by you, the people of Scarborough. Our Afternoon Show with Barry Robinson has interviewd over 120 guests, all had something relevent to say about where we live. Our volunteers bring you programmes which cover local information and events all based around the charitable sector along with quality popular music for the last 50 years. We have featured many local artists on air and now wish to expand our range of programmes.
Our impact on the communityIn the past few weeks, people have listened to us via our website alone for over 3,000 hours. We are a not for profit Company set up to apply to Ofcom for a community license, while we await further broadcast technologies (ie DAB) to become available to us,we continue to grow our range of content on line only. We also bring you coverage from every Scarborough Athletic match and are available on every Smartphone, Tablet, Laptop, PC, Smart TV and Now TV. If fact we are every connected device !
