The Aims are: To enable and empower young people to have a strong social and personal identity, achieve their potential and make a successful transition to adult life. To develop creativity, energy and enthusiasm in people to establish new social enterprise schemes in the community.To enable and empower older people to have a safe, healthy and enjoyable quality of life.To provide facilities for children and families to gain positive social and personal skills, become confident and build lasting friendships.To increase access to employment and economic well-being through opportunities to gain skills, confidence and knowledge.
Why the community needs us
To create an accessible community facility for all ages and abilities. To deliver quarterly Community Bazaars for between one day to one week, at two or more different locations in the area involving at least 15 stall holders and 1,000 visitors at each. To provide a regular luncheon club, advice service and activities for older people. To provide an adult education programme, alongside partners, covering information technology, specific vocations, cookery, money management, life and basic skills
Our impact on the community
Over 100 children and young people attend our holiday workshops, The Community Bazaars regularly attract over 500 people with over 20 stalls, we are the winners of the spirit of Manchester 2018 community cohesion award and we have been nominated this year again.
