Reaching Higher supports young people to become leaders of their own lives and communities. We provide mentoring sessions, creative arts groups, a football academy, residential camps, and life skill seminars. We also support 17-20 year olds to become 'Leaders in Training', who run projects alongside the youth leaders.
Why the community needs usReaching Higher is based in a deprived area in South London, and the open-access sessions provide young people with a safe, fun space in their area. The range of activities that we run help young people to gain new skills, social connections and positive role models. The Leaders in Training scheme also enables young people to build confidence and experience in leadership, which can be beneficial to their transition into employment as well as their own sense of value and achievement.
