Using Film Industry opportunities for community benefit in Northants thru Movie Hub Weston Favell
We use exciting opportunities in the Film Industry working with professional film productions to help young and vulnerable people build life, literacy and work skills as well as confidence and pride in their surroundings. We operate out of Weston Favell Shopping Centre to engage the community. Film is a great way to get world of work experience, show off the best features of an area and engage people creatively. Learning, Literacy & Livelihoods!
Why the community needs usWe want to use the exciting multi-disciplined & often-inaccessible world of professional film to engage, inspire & give a voice to people. We've created work for Holocaust Memorial Day in Northampton, built young people's skills and pride in Northampton through our Movie Hub in Weston Favell, and now are creating a Film Location Database with the community to increase the town's cultural offerings and build skills in young people and vulnerable adults focusing on deprived areas
Our impact on the communityOur Movie Hub project worked with over 70 young people, helped Northampton Academy win a Technology in Learning Award and had big results in terms of confidence and aspirations for many of those involved. The Holocaust Memorial Day project has so far been viewed by over 1000 young people and our Film Location Database workshops will work with over a 100 people over the course of the next year
Marketing our free activities to charities, schools, young people and marketing our film location database work to the film industry
