We support disadvantaged people to be able to make better lives for themselves and their families.
Riverside Community Health Project works according to community development
principles to improve the health and well-being of disadvantaged communities by acting with others to ensure appropriate service provision.
Currently target groups include: children, parents, women, community groups, and migrants.
Why the community needs usWe support groups of people to come together towards finding ways of improving their own, families, and communities prospects. We provide support, training, activities, and space i.e. manage a community building. We support people from different backgrounds to come together, towards improved community cohesion. We also help to make services more accessible by bringing together users and providers. We work with local providers to meet local need e.g. welfare rights, Sure Start.
Our impact on the communityVolunteering offers training and support, building skills and experience towards paid employment.
Activities with young children and their parents, helps parents to support their children's development.
Women's work offers women the opportunity to gain confidence and skills which benefits their own, their families and their communities health.
Bringing people of varying ages, lots of different minority and local communities builds linking social capital and supports community cohesion
We have a thriving volunteer project, volunteers are usually people who live in the locality who want to share their skills and times with others if you would like to volunteer e-mail christine@riversidechp.co.uk
