'Alternative by Design', we find practical ways to help people get the education, experience and personal support they need. We're a community organisation that oozes positivity and it rubs off. Everyone knows they are somewhere special when they step over the threshold. We provide a pick and mix of training, educational courses, work placements and activities to suit a persons age, interests, abilities. Our Community Garden is one of our fantastic resources for giving people opportunities.
Why the community needs usOur impact on the communityWe work with over 2000 people from North Liverpool and across the City. We are there for those people who for many reasons may not be ready or able to attend mainstream education or health services. People will make friends and stay connected, meet others who can give them help and advice, get help with personal problems, belong, leave with qualifications, a great reference, a cv or a new goal in life, make a contribution to the well-being of others and feel inspired, supported and happier.
There are never enough hours in the day or cash in the pot to allow us to respond to every need or request. Help orgnaising fundraising events and encouraging donations would be an absolute blessing. Terry in the garden always needs help too!
