Why the community needs usWe are the largest provider of activity for children in the Ryburn Valley and are therefore at the heart of our local community. We have links with education through primary, secondary and local colleges. Our activities promote better social interaction, reduces crime and improves the health of our local children. We provide coaching for our local primary schools and support local charities and local community events.
Our impact on the communityThe health and fitness of the children can be clearly demonstrated. It improves their well being and develops lifelong friendship ties for both parents and children.Being involved in organised activities gives them structure and respect for their local community and directs them away from anti social behaviour.
Every season we aim to recruit 3 new teams and require volunteers to support that, also we have minimal drop out of volunteers who need to be replaced.Volunteers need to be CRB checked and are offered the chance to go on coaching courses.
We do have links with the Calderdale Volunteers Service.
