Cambridge | Community Support & Development
SYG is a structured, activities based Youth group , split into three age groups: juniors 8-11,seniors upto 12,amicus upto 15. We have an informal uniform consisting of a polo shirt and fleece embroidered with our logo. We meet every Monday evening at Sawston Village College to work on a termly project. These projects aim to increase knowledge and skills and, hopefully, lead to recognised qualifications. We also offer a wide range of extra activities including canoeing, the Duke of Edinburgh award.
Why the community needs usSawston Youth Group offers opportunities to over 60 young people from the local community, in and around Sawston; as members, they benefit from the social, educational, spiritual, and fun activities provided each week, also the opportunity to attend an annual 5 day residential.
Our impact on the communityYoung people have the opportunities to learn new skills, take part in the Duke Of Edinburgh Award Scheme, gain positive social experiences through outings and mixing with other groups, and contribute to the community.
