Striving to support an estimated 2,000 people living with sight loss in the Selby District
Selby District Vision is a local charity committed to helping those experiencing sight loss within the Selby District. We aim to support the needs of visually impaired people by providing information, resources and social and recreation opportunities, promoting independence. We strive to involve the wider community in our work, through fundraising events and awareness strategies. We receive no state funding and rely entirely on fundraising, legacies and donations to continue our work.
Why the community needs usSelby District Vision aims to not only support sight impaired people directly, but also families, carers and local businesses who work with and for them. Community involvement in the Charity is extremely important to us and any support we are given is invaluable. We would not be able to opporate without the generosity of our volunteers, donors and clients.
Our impact on the communityWe are currently updating and refreshing our Resource Centre and Outreach Service and all donations are vital to our continued work. We also have a number of local community events happening in the next few months including; a Beetle Drive, Race Night and regular coffee mornings. To find out more please do give us a ring on 01757 709800.
We are always in need of volunteers who would be interested in helping sight impaired people to live more independant lives. We use volunteers for transport, social and recreational activities, in our Resources Centre and to generally support and befriend our clients.
