Why the community needs usThe negative consequences of grief for some children are well documented. However, children's grief is not a one-off phenomenon, but a developmentally related process that can continue throughout childhood with a need to re-grieve at times of additional loss or transition. Without early intervention and the continued provision of support, bereaved children can be at greater risk than non bereaved children of having behavioural or mental health issues, substance misue or criminal activity.
Our impact on the communitySome examples of results and outcome are that :
Children and young people will report an increased confidence in their ability to manage their grief, and regulate and express negative emotions more constructively.
Children and young people will report less disruption in their engagement with education and training, and positive social experiences leading to greater opportunities to fulfill their potential.
