Steps in Time have spent over 25 years teaching English traditions (mostly dance) to children.
To give rural children the chance to learn traditional English culture/skills and preserve and share them. To increase membership and awareness while building skills that concentrate on dance; as well as traditional drama, games and making Dorset buttons.
Why the community needs usWe perform at local events and provide a link between young and old passing on skills (dance, Dorset buttons etc). Being rural it gives children a very rare productive outlet (increasing fitness, self esteem and confidence). It gives pride in region/country when performing at events, around he region and abroad. Brings together children from many of the local villages and local schools (both state and private).
Our impact on the communityWe aim to keep alive the traditions of the region and to pass these on to new generations. This allows us to exchange our customs with others.
