SWALLOW supports teenagers and adults with learning disabilities.

SWALLOW is a user-led charity based in Westfield, just south of Bath, supporting teenagers and adults with learning disabilities. We support our members to lead independent and fulfilled lives by offering a range of help and support. We help people with learning disabilities to life the lives that they choose through independent living skills training, supported housing, outreach support, day activities, work skills skills training and health and social activities.

Why the community needs us
SWALLOW makes a real difference to the lives of vulnerable local people, allowing them to live the lives that they choose. We support our members to take an active role in the community, develop skills and build a network of friendships to reduce social isolation. We empower our members by developing services with them and listening to what they want.
The work that SWALLOW does makes a huge impact on the lives of our members and their families. We build confidence and skills and with our help our members become active, thriving members of the community

Our impact during COVID
Our help has been needed more than ever during the current pandemic. We have continued to support our members throughout lockdown and beyond, helping to reduce anxieties and reassure them and rebuild their confidence. We have also used the resources and hard work of members at the SWALLOW Community Café to help local vulnerable children and families by providing meals during the holidays.

SWALLOW’s income has been squeezed and so any donations will be put to very good use.
