We want to give better opportunities to swimmers to enjoy and develop within their sport

Team Bath AS provides a structured pathway for local swimmers of all levels, We help them achieve their maximum potential from first competitions & galas through to competing at National and International level. As a community swimming club based in Bath run by volunteers, we aim to support & inspire swimmers by giving them access to training sessions & competitions.We provide the opportunity to advance their swimming skills and increase overall fitness and health in a local community club environment.
From September 2023, Team Bath AS will have 5 squads with sessions ranging from 2 hours per week to 16 hours per week (including strength and conditioning training).
We provide a safe and welcoming environment for all and have Swimmark accreditation. This is Swim England’s quality standard for clubs. It recognises high standards of governance, sustainability and effectiveness.
We face a number of challenges in the year ahead especially with the increase in costs associated with hiring facilities. These economically-challenging times mean it is our a priority to ensure a sustainable future for the club,
During the season from September 2022 to August 2023 we have see swimmers achieve their goals, personal bests and medal in all different strokes and distances. Our volunteers have dedicated huge amounts of time as committee members, volunteer coaches, officials, team managers and in club support roles. Many volunteers have stepped up to help run events that enable swimmers to compete in their first competition and run licensed competitions that allow swimmers from around the country to qualify for National Championships.

Why the community needs us
To increase the fitness of young people, encouraging healthy physical and mental well-being through sporting activities associated with swimming and providing an essential life skill.
The opportunities for swimmers has been limited over the last few years, especially due to COVID and closure of local pools. To be able to provide an opportunity for swimmers to enjoy competitive swimming is a positive step and we will aim to give more chances to young people to take part in this incredible sport.
