Supports children & young people living with Type 1 Diabetes & their families in North East England

Type 1 Kidz supports children and young people living with Type 1 Diabetes and provides regular group sessions for them to come together, get support, learn from one another and try new things in a safe environment. The groups are informal and we take part in lots of activities including mental health & wellbeing, sport, university and more ... diabetes can really affect every part of your life. We also give children and young people new opportunities such as going on trips and residentials.

We work with other local organisations and schools to raise awareness about Type 1 Diabetes. If you would be interested in getting involved contact us!

Our impact on the community
Over the past three years we have worked with 200 children & young people with T1 Diabetes and an additional 400 family and community members. Children & young people have told us that coming to the groups have given them more confidence and knowledge. We are producing a video to show the impact the project has had - so watch this space.
