Umbrella Fair Organisation is about community co-operation & sustainable life stlyes.
The Umbrella Fair Organisation is a community co-op of local people, promoting creativity, sustainable living and environmental awareness. We're best known for our annual festival of music, art, poetry, dance, spoken word and education. We can be found throughout the year on the ground floor of the Racecourse Pavilion, running events, our two social enterprises - a vegan cafe and the bike recycle project - and providing volunteering opportunities for local people.
Why the community needs usOur festival brings together many different sections of Northampton's community to celebrate their art and music, promoting co-operation and togetherness. We provide supported volunteering opportunities within our organisation which are open to all members of the Northampton community, providing expenses to ensure no one is left behind and creating roles to suit all individuals.
Our impact on the community
We are looking for volunteers of all abilities, ages and backgrounds. For our festival we require over 300 volunteers, who cover a range of roles including: stewards, recycling team, performer hospitality, sound engineer support and many more. We are particularly looking for people with experience of management and co-ordination, practical skills like carpentry and sowing. If you are interested in community or the environment we have a role for you.
