Veterans Council UK - we aim to achieve a service to improve the quality of lives of Veterans.
The Veterans Council's aims and objectives are to charitably provide information and support to people connected with the Armed Forces Community, their dependants, carers and other relevant organisations within the UK. To promote, organise and facilitate co-operation and partnership working between third sector, statutory and other relevant bodies in the achievement of the above purposes within the area of benefit. We are a charitable, non-profit making organisation.
Why the community needs usThe Veterans Council will simplify the often confusing picture of priorities of the Armed Forces Community and provide information, advice and guidance for all the service providers, local authorities and most importantly members of Armed Forces Community who reside in or who wish to resettle in the UK. We will signpost this community to service providers that will support their needs. This includes SPVA; ex - service organisations; housing, health; social care; employment and education.
Our impact on the communityWe aim to develop a mechanism for the dissemination of health, social care and general welfare information pertaining to veteran's issues i.e. veterans council newsletter will be helpful to engage with all ages groups from the veterans community. The liaison with council departments and other statutory organisations is essential to promote to veterans the uptake of preventative and acute services this will include liaison with specialist organisation on specific veteran related health issues.
