Vision North Somerset - supporting local people who are blind or partially sighted

Vision North Somerset is an independent, local charity where every penny you donate makes a difference. We support hundreds of local people who are blind or partially sighted every year. Every day we take phone calls from people looking for advice, information and support. We change lives with a range of holistic, caring services from helping people get out and about safely to training in using mobile phones to organising social groups so people can connect and support one another.

Why the community needs us:
Did you know that there are nearly 9000 people with significant sight loss in North Somerset? And that number is set to rise by 30% by 2030? Being diagnosed with an eye condition can be frightening. Often people are left after a diagnosis with very little practical support to help them rebuild their lives. That's where we come in.

Our impact on the community
Vision North Somerset has around 3 to 7 new people coming to us for help every week. We cannot support everyone who needs us without your help. Thank you for your donation!

Volunteers needed

If you're able to offer a bit of time to help others, please get in touch by email or phone and we can chat about opportunities.

What your gift could provide

will cover a support group's meeting room for an hour of laughter and chat

£30

will provide an hour of one-to-one training in using a computer, phone or tablet device.

will provide six hours of advice and information to help a person newly diagnosed with sight loss.
