Multi award-winning charity with a 15 year track record of inclusive arts and communitty work.
The award-winning Viva Arts and Community Group is a registered charity with an impressive track record of inclusive community and arts activity involving all age groups, from all types of people. We are celebrating our 15th year of supporting people across Cambridgeshire to explore and experience the arts, no matter their background, experience, age, gender or disability. Why the community needs us
Viva benefits people of all ages and abilities throughout Cambridgeshire, however we have a strong focus on young people and people who have less access to arts and community activity due to isolation, situation, disability and so on. Viva is a grassroots charity working with communities to improve quality of life, wellbeing and community spirit. Viva also offers education and training and aims to improve the skills, prospects and confidence of young people through our work. Our impact on the community
Over the past 15 years Viva has worked with over 1000 disadvantaged young people. We have run a successful arts club for people with disabilities and special needs, put over 100 young people through accredited training and held over 40 productions. We have won 2 NODA regional awards, 7 Edinburgh Fringe Awards and The Queens Award for Voluntary Service. We have also raised over £400,000 to purchase The Viva Centre which we now run as a community building for the benefit of the whole community.
Volunteers are required to work in our Charity Shop in Soham. You'll need good communication, and customer service skills and be willing to use the till. Training will be given. To be able to work some Saturdays would be an advantage. Contact Hilary Owen on 01353 722228 or email email@example.com. We also need help with supervising/leading arts sessions.
