Wheatsheaf Trust works to promote social inclusion for disadvantaged groups through providing information, advice and guidance to help support people into training, education or employment.
Why the community needs usWe provide a vital service for people in areas of deprivation, many of whom face multiple barriers to finding work, and for the increasing number of disengaged young people for whom being NEET can have a long-term devastating effect on their lives.
Our impact on the communityIn addition to our free drop-in job and training search facilities we produce tailor-made programmes to meet the specific needs of the individual client. Our Southampton centres alone have supported 3196 people into employment and 711 into training.
We are always looking for volunteers to help our staff, whether in the centres or in the constructin skills workshop. Our volunteers form an extremely valued team and play a vital role in ensuring Wheatsheaf can do its work.
At the moment we are particularly looking for volunteers qualified to give legal advice on employment issues advisers qualified to give financial/debt advice.
