A playground, an education, a business - a place for young people to grow, learn and play
Based in Lostwithiel, Cornwall and serving the Clay Area of Cornwall. Wild Woods is a playground: teaching young people to play, rest and have fun. It is education: learning about the land and the animals that live there. It is a business: learning how to run a business from the ground up. A woodland site, developed by young people, for young people. Come and see our adventure. Join our journey. Help us to work together, to get a better future for young people in the Clay Area.
Why the community needs usWe have already spent time working with a number of young people getting them ready to work. Out of 30 young people we have signposted 29 to jobs or further education. We want to continue to develop this work by offering additional education opportunities for a wider community. We are developing a food forest, adding an off-grid centre. This includes a cinema run by cycling and a bore hole. Solar panels provide all our energy and we will stay off-grid.
Our impact on the communityWith the money raised we will develop our off-grid systems including developing new battery banks and building the off-grid cinema. We will also run several workshops with young people teaching healthy living skills. The money will also add to our food forest planting.
