Regular, reliable and flexible home-based breaks to carers.
Crossroads Care's mission is to promote, provide and support quality services for carers within the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. We provide breaks for unpaid carers who are looking after their loved ones at home. Crossroads Care gives carers a few hours break from 24 hour caring duties. Our services are available any day of the year.
Why the community needs us
Our service is a lifeline with fully qualified Care Support Workers who are available on regular or on a intermittent basis. A highly trained, paid, experienced member of our 21-strong staff comes to the home and looks after the cared-for person while the regular unpaid family carer takes a break. As far as possible the Crossroads worker is sympathetically matched with both the Carer and the disabled person, and usually becomes a firm 'friend' of the family.
Our impact on the community
We started up in 1992 and we now work with about 150 families in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.
We welcome all volunteers who could assist with producing posters for events or holding a donation box in Maidenhead or Windsor Town Centre.
