Engage the local community in the arts by organising an annual Lantern Festival that will provide the opportunity for the inhabitants of the Wolverton and Greenleys area to come together and celebrate their town and community. Why the community needs us
The festival promotes cohesion and co-operation in the town and brings diverse communities together. Leading up to the event, school assemblies and workshops take place in four schools in the parish. This activity alone engages over a thousand children and families. Three generations of local residents have taken part in and continue to support the festival instilling a lasting legacy in Wolverton. Our impact on the community
The festival takes place this year on Saturday 24 November and features an afternoon event that includes a street market, performances from local artists and a parade featuring lanterns and music. The people of Wolverton co-operate to create an event that is magical, inclusive and inspiring. The event provides a platform for local community groups to perform and share their practices, it supports local traders and artists and it improves the local economy by attracting new visitors to our town.
Wolverton Lantern Festival relies on it's generous volunteers who help in all aspects of the festival. Whether you have an hour or two to help with delivering flyers or making kits or would like to get more involved, we would love to hear form you.
