We help women in London who have been affected by domestic abuse to recover from their experience
Domestic abuse damages women's mental health and makes them vulnerable to isolation, PTSD, depression, self-harm and suicide. A woman's emotional needs are often side-lined due to practical issues she faces such as finding a safe home and dealing with police and court. Woman's Trust exists to ensure that women's mental health is not ignored. We provide free services: 1-to-1 counselling, support groups and workshops; thereby helping women regain the strength they need to move forward.
Why the community needs usOur impact on the communityWe provide nearly 800 women with services annually. After attending, women are healthier, safer, more autonomous and better able to cope. Of our clients in 16/17, 60% reported improvements in depression, 66% in self-harming and 72% were less suicidal. 91% had better relationships with their children and 89% of women remained outside of abusive relationships.
