Our aim :To bring life and warmth back into the lives of the elderly in our community
To improve the quality of life of older members of the community. To restore dignity and offer hope. We have a day centre providing a range of activities, including keep fit, art and computer classes and we also provide lunch three days a week.
Why the community needs usThe elderly are our priority. A survey we conducted shows the number of isolated elderly people in our community is increasing and our aim is to provide a centre and emotional support for these forgotten people.
Our impact on the communityWe started in 2003 with one lunch club and 20 people. We now provide 100 lunches. A new member widower previously had no human contact from Monday to Saturday. He was desperately lonely and isolated but The Hibernian Society has given him hope.
