We offer specifically chosen secondary students a unique opportunity to prepare for work.
It is our sole aim and purpose to provide opportunities for students from our six local secondary schools. Opportunities for those who it is felt may most benefit from a new way to focus on the needs of the year 9 and 10 student as they begin to prepare for the next stage in their lives. By working with the schools, the local business community and the students themselves, we help to develop strengths,highlight areas of development need, and provide a new enthusiasm for the work ahead.
Why the community needs usBy involving local business in our activities (that being both helping voluntarily with the six annual activities we create, and in fund raising) we are bringing the three elements of school, student and local business together in a positive attitude of mutual help and concern.
Our impact on the communityWe work with 240 specific young people over a 2 year period, helping to focus their minds and challenging their attitudes toward preparation for work. The outcomes have been that the vast majority of participants have found the experience has been a positive element in their personal development.
