We believe that every young person should, have someone they can trust, be in a safe place, be supported to become the best they can be by improving their health, wellbeing and education.

Why the community needs us
YMCA Barry is part of the oldest and largest youth charity in the world, set up in 1844. Our local goal is to create a supportive, inclusive and energising community where young people can truly belong, contribute and thrive. We believe our programme of sport, social, creative music and alterantive services provide essential opportunties for young people to meet their full potential.

Our impact on the community
With a membership of over 880, this is proof in itself that young people want to take part in our programme. Our dedicated gymnastics facility is coaching children from the age of three to be fit an healthy for life, enjoying particiapting, making friends whilst getting fit. For some, attendance at the Comonwealth Games is the ambition. Reaching out to young people through music is a tried and tested, hundreds of young people have accessed the Major Music Studio.
