The Friends of Zetland Park group was founded in 2012 by Grangemouth residents to promote the enjoyment and management of Zetland Park and to protect the park's heritage for future generations. We work with Falkirk Council, Falkirk Community Trust and other local groups who have an interest in Zetland Park.
Why the community needs usZetland Park is important to Grangemouth's community and it is regularly used by the town's residents for sport; as a meeting place; for children to play in and it is used by many local community groups. Friends of Zetland Park work in partnership with Falkirk Council to find ways to promote and improve the park.
Our impact on the communityRecent successes include: Refurbishment of the children's cycle track; bringing back the tennis courts - there now 3 high quality tennis courts in the park; planting a community orchard; planning an archaeological survey of the park to look for evidence of an abbey once located in the park and improvements to the paths by Sustrans. A recent important development has been working with Falkirk Council to develop a master plan for the park and to apply for Heritage Lottery funding.
