Whether you are a small voluntary or community group helping local people or an individual or organisation who wants to make a difference to your local community - we can help.

Every year, Devon Community Foundation manages around 1 million pounds in grant making, getting money to where it really matters to voluntary groups on the frontline doing vital and life changing work in our local communities.

At the same time, we provide a cost-effective, personal and flexible way for businesses, individuals, statutory organisations and private trusts to invest in these community groups and make a lasting difference to local issues and causes in Devon.

Here are just some of the issue we face in Devon:

40 people under 18 have received treatment for alcohol addiction in Torbay over last six months; 32% of 18-24 yr olds are unemployed in Devon; There are approx. 000 young carers across Devon looking after a sick or disabled relative; 000 children live below the poverty line in Plymouth; 000 pensioners live alone in Devon and over 80s will increase by 80% over next 7 years; Homelessness in rural areas has increased by 30%

As a Community Foundation, part of a network of 57 throughout the UK, we believe that local people are best placed to see what needs doing in their local community and to do something about it. That could mean anything from setting up a youth group on your local housing estate to running a lunch club for isolated elderly residents; or from tackling the needs of the homeless in your area to improving the local environment.

The voluntary and community groups we support give those who are vulnerable, disadvantaged or disabled a hand-up not just a hand-out. Helping people to achieve things they never dreamed they could and making our communities better and more caring places for everyone. Our grants have supported everyone from young carers to children with disabilities and from ex-offenders to those with mental health problems. From pre-schools in isolated rural areas to sports clubs in run-down urban areas - to name but a few.

There are all sorts of ways to get involved in supporting Devon Community Foundation and make sure we can keep on supporting volunteers on the frontline helping local people in need. Together, we aim to build stronger and better communities for everyone in Devon, both now and for the future. Donations of all sizes are welcome and important to us.

There's a whole range of ways you can give personally or if you're a business, as part of your CSR activity. Working with us means you can choose to support the causes which best match your personal aims or business interests and make your local giving go further, last longer and do more.
