10 miles for ACE Phone Friends

To mark ACE's 10th birthday, 4 of our ACE staff team are running 10 miles each in Ely and Caerau on October 2nd and 3rd.

We want to raise £420 for a befriending project that has made all the difference to our neighbours who have felt isolated or lonely during the pandemic. Lots of us are spending more time on our own at the moment and missing talking with other people.

Phone Friends are there to share a friendly, weekly telephone chat for 15 to 30 minutes. We try to match people who have shared interests and hobbies. Often people find out about all sorts of things they have in common as they get to know one another.

We need a £420 top up to enable us to keep this crucial service going for the next 6 months while we apply for additional funds to secure the project into the future and reach out to more people.

Our team are passionate about keeping Phone Friends going (even if it means running in the rain!), and we hope you feel the same way.
