100 miles for ACE

Together we will run 100 miles around Cardiff in one week to raise money for ACE - Action in Caerau and Ely. Each individual in the team of 15 staff and volunteers has set themselves a challenge to run their own leg of the combined 100 miles for ACE - 2 miles or 25 miles, fast or slow, wherever and however they are able. We aim to complete 100 miles between 18th and 24th October. Your donations will encourage us to reach our target for a great cause.

ACE staff members had planned to run the Cardiff Half Marathon this October, but it's been postponed until March 2021, so we decided to set ourselves a fundraising challenge of our own! ACE - Action in Caerau & Ely is a community development organisation that sits at the heart of one of Wales' most disadvantaged but underestimated communities. Together with our neighbours, we tackle poverty, disadvantage and related complex needs on all fronts using a fully integrated approach. Over the last 7 months we have been responding to community needs exacerbated by Covid-19. We have delivered 1083 food parcels and taken over 800 calls from community members in need of help and support. Like many charities, we have also lost out on income during lockdown and we now face a year of diminished funding while working hard to respond to increasing need for our services.
