Quite unintentionally I seem to have signed up to run four half marathons in four months. Quite the mistake to make. Having realised my mistake I've decided to try and turn my stupidity into some good with a bit of fundraising.
I've chosen Harmless, who are a local charity specialising in preventing self harm. As someone who has been the parent sat waiting in A&E whilst cuts are stitched, this is really important to me.
My half marathons are:
1/8 London Landmarks (official time: 2:02:20)
26/9 Robin Hood (official time: 1:54:45 - some 10 minutes quicker than I was aiming for)
31/10 Worksop Halloween (official time: 1:54:48)
7/11 Monsal Trail (official time: 1:42:57, a massive new PB!)
You may have noticed that the first has passed already, I didn't realise what I'd done and have the fundraising idea until afterwards. You may also notice that the final two are on successive weekends. Finishing with maximum self punishment, and idiocy.
Please give anything that you can spare to a very worthy cause. Thank you.
Wow, very well done Mark !! Proud of you !
All four runs are done and dusted now. I finished with a huge new PB, much to my amazement. It seems that flat courses have a good use after all! Thank you everyone for your very generous donations.
