Ben's doing the Bath Half Marathon

For those who know me well, and likey those who have only known me a short time, you'll know that keeping myself fit and in shape has not been my forte for quite some time. When I found out we were expecting our first child, Lilli, I told myself that I wanted to be a fitter, healthier and more active Dad for her and for my own long term health and wellbeing. 

When a colleague of mine at work put a call out for people to join her and support Wessex MS Therapy Centre by taking on the Bath Half Marathon this March, I bit the bullet and took on the challenge. I've been training after work a few nights a week for the last few months, building up my stamina, whilst balancing life as a new parent. 

Multiple Sclerosis is one of the most common causes of disability in young adults, most commonly being diagnosed in people in their 20s and 30s, though it can develop at any age. In many cases, it is possible to treat the symptoms of MS, but it is a life-changing diagnosis for the individual and those around them. Charities like the Wessex MS Therapy Centre make a huge difference to those people's lives and I hope you support me in getting behind them with a donation, big or small. I'll be donating myself too, so take this as an opportunity to support them and help motivate me as a bonus! 

Just to give you a bit of background about the Wessex MS Therapy Centre, they are a self-funded registered charity, providing therapies, information and practical and emotional support for people with multiple sclerosis and other conditions, such as Cancer, sports injuries, ME and chronic fatigue among many other conditions.
