On 27 April, I’ll be running/plodding the London Marathon! Somehow, I managed to get a ballot place—an opportunity I couldn’t turn down. Now, I’m deep into training for my first-ever marathon—and it’s very tough!

To make every mile count and keep me motivated, I’m raising money for West London Welcome (WLW)—a fantastic charity that supports refugees in my local area.

A couple of years ago, I hosted a young man named Daniel who had recently been granted refugee status and needed emergency accommodation. He had been through incredibly tough times and found essential support at WLW’s centre in Hammersmith—where he could take English lessons, get practical help, and share meals in a warm, welcoming space. For people like Daniel, WLW is more than a charity—it’s a community that helps rebuild lives.
