Sport has always been a big part of my life, but recent years—life in general and some personal health challenges in 2024—put it on hold. Thankfully, things are looking up, and I’m ready to push myself again!
A new chapter also began for me this year as I took on a full-time role at Radfield Home Care in York as General Manager. In just a short time, I’ve seen first-hand the incredible dedication of our Care Professionals and the daily challenges they face. The role has also opened my eyes to how vital support is for unpaid carers - people who devote their lives to looking after loved ones without always getting the help they deserve.
So, when we asked our team at Radfield Home Care to choose a charity to support, I wasn’t surprised when their decision was clear: York Carers Centre. This incredible organisation offers free advice, emotional support, social events, and advocacy for unpaid carers across York, ensuring they get the recognition and assistance they need.
Now, here’s where my slightly rash decision comes in…
To raise funds and awareness, I’m taking on an epic challenge—cycling the equivalent of Land’s End to John o’ Groats (837 miles/970 km) in 77 days starting 1st February. Before you get too impressed, I should mention I’ll be doing it from my living room on an exercise bike! But make no mistake—this will push me to my limits!
How You Can Help
Every donation, big or small, will go directly to York Carers Centre, providing unpaid carers with vital support, advice, and respite. If you can’t donate, sharing this fundraiser or offering words of encouragement would mean the world to me.
Let’s make this journey count! Donate now and help make a real difference.
Thank you—now time to start pedalling! 🚴♂️💙
