I felt challenged during the Covid 19 lockdown to attempt the Couch to 5K challenge. I started this challenge on the 20th April and I am now in week 7! I couldn't imagine at the start that I could actually run 5K!
What better time than now I thought to do it but also to raise money for the charity I work for. White Gold Cornwall supports the most at risk/vulnerable children, young people and young adults in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly 1:1 with mentoring. Some of the issues we support with are self-harm, mental ill-health, self-esteem, self-confidence, drug and substance misuse, behavioural issues and domestic abuse. As a charity we have limited funds to be able to help those who desperately need help but have no means of funding the work.
During the lockdown some of our workers have continued with remote support to help the young people through the time and our CEO, Alan Milliner and myself have been running operations throughout.
Any funds raised will be put directly into the charity to ensure we continue to meet the needs of those young people in our County.
Give what you can - every penny helps. Thank you for supporting me in this.
