About

Two residents and a member of staff from St Petrocs are run/walking the camel trail and slightly further joining the virtual London marathon on the 4th October 2020.
Our aim is to raise funds for Bodmin friends of St Petrocs and St Petrocs. The residents of Castle Bodmin hostel want to be able to give back to St Petrocs who have given them not only a roof over their heads but given them hope and inspiration to change their future.
Neither of the residents has had any experience in a long distance event .They have both said this gives them the motivation to show that they can commit to something and complete it. The marathon will cover a multitude of positive outcomes; it will be great for their mental health and fitness as well as looking at healthy nutrition. It will also provide a sense of self accomplishment and achievement which they feel has lacked previously in their lives. The residents are hoping this will highlight the importance of team work between staff and residents while continuously promoting the excellent work achieved by the supported accommodation teams of St Petrocs.
