Andrew and Tom Abseil Spinnaker Tower

Basingstoke-educated brothers Tom (l) and Andrew (r) Browning have undertaken to complete a sponsored abseil 100 metres down Portsmouth’s iconic Emirates Spinnaker Tower for the Camrose Centre for Homeless and Vulnerably Housed people in Basingstoke. Both Andrew and Tom were at Queen Mary’s College in the town before following their professional careers. Andrew is now a Solicitor at the University of Surrey, Guilford while Tom is a Senior Probation Officer in Basingstoke. They have chosen to support Camrose as their Dad, Mike is a volunteer and Trustee at the centre and they all care about the plight of people on the fringes of society who have nowhere of their own to live. They will be doing their abseil on Sunday 19th June at 5 p.m. and are aiming to raise at least £2000 towards the work of the Camrose Centre. The Camrose Centre provides short-term relief in the form of food, shelter, laundering and washing facilities. Its aim is to promote fulfilling lifestyles, emotional wellbeing and support long-term changes for those experiencing the effects of homelessness, substance misuse, mental ill-health, poverty, domestic violence, unemployment and social isolation. It supports those in need to identify and take positive steps towards change through our drop-in centre and deliver a range of support services.
