Bradford Bulls Foundation - Choices 4 All
Bradford Cycle club have decided to raise funds for the Bradford Bulls Foundation and Choices 4 All by cycling from Bradford to its twin city Roubaix in France. Roubaix is one of the most famous cycling towns in the world and has many historical links to the City. Taras Stefanyszyn from Bradford Cycle Club said: “It’s up to 600 miles of cycling in six days, it’s going to be hard and brutal however is for two great causes”. The ride will raise funds for the Bradford Bulls Foundation, who provide a safe venue for the cyclists to train and Choices 4 All based at the University of Bradford Union of student who enable disabled people to access sports and activities. Both organisations are supporting the drive for Bradford to mirror its twin city and become known as the Capital of Cycling for the UK as Roubaix is the Capital of Cycling for France. The ride takes place between 5 -11 April and will see over 20 riders take on the challenging 600 mile journey. Many of the cyclists will be overcoming their own unique challenges on the ride, some have overcome health issues and others have never cycled before. The ride will be split into two groups one will take on the famous cobbles of Roubaix where just staying upright is the challenge, while the social ride takes a more scenic route to the city. All the riders have been invited to a civic reception in Roubaix where gifts from the mayors of both cities will be exchanged and they will have VIP access at the velodrome to welcome the ‘Hell of the North’ riders.
Well done from Taras Wibsey.
