Better Start Bradford (Better Start Paddling)

Teams from across the region will once again on Roberts Park to “Race the Dragon” on the River Aire raising money for charity and helping to make a difference to so many lives. ​ The Bradford Dragonboat Festival will support the Bradford Lord Mayor's Appeal. The Lord Mayor's Appeal 2017-18 will split proceeds 50/50 with Down Syndrome Training &Support Service (DST & SS) in Bingley and the Wishing Well Appeal which will provide small grants for organisations and smaller groups across the Bradford District. The DST & SS helps children and young people with Down Syndrome and their families and the professionals who work with them. It is facing a funding crisis and without additional resources will have to further reduce their services, all of which are in very high demand and are often stretched to capacity.
