I am going to run the FCUM Minithon 5km on October 18th and hope to raise a little money towards finishing our ground and St Marys Rd Primary School in the process. Any money donated no matter how big or small would be greatly appreciated. Bit more info on the run and where the money is going below:- This season’s sponsored 5k Run, Walk or Crawl Minithon will again take place from 12 noon on Sunday 18 October in the beautiful leafy setting of Boggart Hole Clough, just over a mile away from our new ground. The event will begin and end with a circuit of the athletics track, enabling young and old to have their special “Chariots of Fire” moment. This year’s new fundraising partner will be our closest neighbours at St Mary’s Primary School. The event will not only help us and our neighbours to get to know each other. Situated in one of the city’s most deprived communities, the school is not given budget for improving playground facilities but wants our help to secure additional equipment to encourage local children to enjoy healthy physical activity.
