The Yorkshire Three Peaks ChallengeA fundraising project by Carl Conradi
Hey folks! My name is Carl Conradi and I'm a volunteer mentor working with the Reasons Why Foundation (http://www.therwf.org), a brilliant non-profit based in South London that offers behavioural change programmes to men and women who have been involved in crime, helping them to make better life decisions and to avoid reoffending.
The RWF has a truly phenomenal track record in this regard. Across the UK, 44% of all adult offenders are re-convicted within twelve months of their release from prison. However, of the nearly 300 people who have passed through the RWF programme, only 5% are known to have reoffended. Indeed, if the RWF's programming were to be extended across the entirety of England and Wales, it could theoretically reduce the annual number of committed offences by over 350,000.
On Saturday, June 16th, I'll be tackling the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in support of this awesome foundation. This means that I'll be hiking up and down Yorkshire's three tallest mountains in a brisk 24 hours, logging a total 38.6km of distance and 1,585m of vertical. At the same time, I'm hoping to raise £1,000 to support the RWF's programming.
If you're keen to lend a bit of support, please donate a few pounds! I'd be tremendously appreciative and will personally send you good vibes while trudging my way across Yorkshire and back!
Thanks very much for your interest and I hope all is swell!
