Hi!
I'm volunteering as an Equal Opportunities Ambassador (EOA) for Babbasa and one of my chosen challenges is to raise money for the charity. I've decided to run Chester Marathon on 8th October 2023, and hope to reach my target amount of £1,300.
Is this your Bristol?
● 7th worst place (out of 348 districts) to live for black minority groups in England and Wales
● Ethnic minority unemployment 2x higher than national average
● 25% of all young people in ethnically diverse inner-city communities registered to be living in relative poverty
● Bridge The Gap: 79% attribute lack of progression because of lack of access to relevant experience, information and skills
● … and since COVID - ethnic minorities have experienced higher death rates, more limited access to health care, increased hostility and hate crime, and more severe impacts on income and work.
"Babbasa’s 2030 Vision for Bristol is to support at least one person from each inner- city household in Bristol to secure a median salary job by 2030 (Now acknowledged in One City Plan, March 2021).
Our work is steered by our three core values: Kindness, Imagination and Determination
We share two strong beliefs;
● that young people’s aspirations and opportunities should not be determined by their background
● that every young person has a unique skill or talent which, if explored and nurtured, can advance humanity in a significant way."
Help me help this amazing organisation by donating what you can. Thanks very much! :)
Good luck Tony!!
