Climbing Ben Nevis for 1st Ightham Scout Group
I was a proud member of 1st Ightham Scouts for a few years, and it was some of the best years of my childhood! They gave me the chance to develop, learn, have new experiences and make friends, as well as learn some valuable life skills.
The aim of 1st Ightham Scout Group is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local community. The method of achieving this is by providing an enjoyable and attractive training scheme of progressive training based on the Scout Promise and Law and guided by adult leadership.
"Ightham Scouts are an integral part of community life in Ightham, offering Scouting to over 80 young people in the village. We provide a safe and friendly environment for young people to develop skills, friendships and to have fun. By providing all of this for the young people, we help them grow into responsible and valuable members of society."
1st Ightham Scout Group have been fundraising for a new scout hut, and in September 2019 they completed the main building! There are a few smaller areas which still need to be completed, and i hope whatever funds are raised from this help complete it (every little helps!). I want to give back to 1st Ightham Scouts as a thank you for changing my life, as i'm sure i wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't for them!

About Ben Nevis Climb (via the Carn Mor Dearg Arete)
Myself and a group of friends have teamed up to climb Ben Nevis for charity! We will be climbing Ben Nevis via the Carn Mor Dearg Arete (not the tourist route). The Charity of choice is my local scout group (1st Ightham Scouts), who taught me some valuable life skills and gave me the opportunity to experience some amazing activities and trips throughout my childhood.
