Dani and Paul go NUTS for Prospex

As you may know we have been working with Prospex leading their Mechanix project since April 2014 which engages disadvantaged young people in Islington in mechanics and personal development giving them accreditation and experience. In support of the charity we are running the NUTS Challenge on Saturday 3rd September which is a 7k 1oo obstacle cousre one of the toughest in the UK and all in deep MUD! About Prospex: Supporting disadvantaged young people aged 8 -19 in realising their full potential We are a local community charity, dedicated to helping the young people within the Borough of Islington, working with young people who may be at risk of falling into a lifestyle of knife crime, drugs and violence, creating opportunities to realise and fulfil their own personal dreams, goals and aspirations. Our 3-stage service takes young people on their own Prospex journey via Street Teams, Community Youth Hubs and One2Ones, with a commitment to always putting young people first Why the community needs us Islington is one of the poorest boroughs with families in poverty and high crime rate. Our support goes beyond the young person, and includes local families and the wider community. Our work helps to reduce antisocial behaviour by getting young people involved in rejuvenation projects that create community cohesion. Our impact on the community Being a part Prospex inspires young people to see beyond their current circumstances, giving them the tools they will need to move forward and make decisions for themselves that will help them become valuable members of their communities.
