On Saturday 7th September I will be taking a 200ft stroll down the side of the highest building in Aylesbury - Bucks County Council New County Offices (also the building I work in).
Mad as I might be it is for a good local cause that will benefit Bucks communities. Your support is very much appreciated and if you can come along to watch the event please do - I will publish my "time slot" nearer the time.
Youth Bank Bucks:
Grant-making panel for young people's projects that benefit the community
We give grants to local groups of young people or individuals aged 13-19. Funding can be for new projects the young people want to start or existing projects they want to develop. All of the decisions are made by and for young people.
Why the community needs us:
Through the Youth Bank young people can receive funding for projects that benefit their youth group or organisation, & ultimately the community around them. Grants can also be made to support individual young people for training that will benefit other young people & their local community. The money could go towards a variety of things including building relationships between groups of young people from different ethnic communities, drug awareness projects & community safety projects.
Our impact on the community:
Youth Bank enables young people to have a say about what goes on in their community. By supporting young people's involvement in the decision making processes that affect their lives we ensure that young people's voices are heard.
