Emma and Nancys January Trek

After a very upsetting end to 2020, we got pregnant with our little miracle Nancy in February 2021.
Riddled with anxiety and worry, I got referred to a charity called Mothers for Mothers when I was 11 weeks pregnant. Mothers for Mothers are a local charity run by mothers, who have suffered and recovered from depression, anxiety or isolation during pregnancy or after birth. 
Every Friday since April 2021, I have had a support call with Mothers for Mothers. They have supported me through an early water leakage at 19 weeks, being hospitalised with Covid at 26 weeks and the whole third trimester, including passing out with a heart condition. Naively thinking all would be a breeze when I gave birth, they continued to support me through a long hospital stay with a re-admission and my fear of being in hospital again, as well as my lack of support from health professions with my breastfeeding.

It costs the charity £10 to provide two calls to a vulnerable mother and we want to raise the money they have spent supporting me, which would be £220 by the end of January. The women who work and volunteer there are actual life savers. We’ve decided to walk 100 miles throughout January in the countryside around our town with Nancy in her sling.

I’d love some of you to join us from time-to-time and would appreciate help with raising the money to help other women in similar situations. I always thought getting pregnant and being pregnant would be easier than it actually was and we never know when any of us would need a charity like this one.
