So for some reason, be it good or bad, I have decided to abseil down the County Hall building in Aylesbury for charity. It's a 200 ft (38.5 times my height), 15 floor, 1960's building. I'll be one of 100 people doing this, half under 18, the other half over, on September 7th.
I'm raising money for Youth Bank, a grant-making panel for young people's projects that benefit the community. They give grants to local groups of young people or individuals aged 13-19. Funding can be for new projects they want to start or existing projects they want to develop. Funded projects include: dance, drama, music workshops, community safety, volunteering, drugs awareness, independent living, special music events.
I'm not entirely sure why I agreed to do this, given the fact that I really don't like heights. I keep telling myself that its a good way to cure my phobia, but the closer it gets the more nervous I feel.
