Geoffrey Frank Spencer was born on 17th May 1949, and lived in Dorset. He worked hard for the local community, serving as a parish and district councilor. Further afield he was famous in the philatelic world as an expert on stamp new issues, writing monthly columns in the leading stamp magazines. His special talent was to supplement listings with little known and fascinating information to bring these to life. In 2013 he was diagnosed with a tumour inside his head. In 2014 he underwent drastic surgery resulting in complete facial reconstruction. To come to terms with these life changing events he was supported by About Face Centre in Poole. He was determined to resume his work, and continued right up to his death in December 2017. Please give generously in memory of this special person.
