Go Vegan For Grow!

My name is Meghan and I work for North Belfast based community garden charity Grow. We have two gardens in the area - one at the Waterworks park and one at Camberwell Court supported living where we work with people over the age of 65. Grow isn't just about gardening - it's about bringing people together as part of their community and giving them the experience of spending time with other people in a tranquil, green space where they can relax, spend time outdoors and have a bit of craic together. What Grow does is fundamental to the social development of the area, and I want to help as much as I can so I've decided to fundraise for Grow by going vegan throughout the month of April for the Localgiving Local Hero campaign. So what is a Vegan? A vegan is a person who does not eat or use animal products, and a vegan diet is a diet free from animal products. So this means no eggs, cheese, milk, butter and of course, meat. It also means nothing that contains those things, so no chocolate, cake, buns, creamy pasta or pizza! If I get as many sponsors as possible, I could win up to £1000 for Grow which would be amazing. It's not about how much money we raise, it's about getting as many different people to donate as possible and to spread the word about what we do.
